Provinces & Territories

About this section of the website

The income tax and benefit return is made up of two parts, one that deals with federal income tax and benefits and another that deals with provincial or territorial income tax and benefits. (Quebec is the exception in that it has its own return specifically for the provincial income tax and benefits.) Each year, the provincial/territorial portion of the return changes.

CVITP clinics may also be organized to reflect specific provincial or territorial needs. Each year, those needs may change somewhat.

The purposes of our provincial and territorial pages are to:

– highlight these changes for CVITP volunteers and host organizations,

– comment on some aspects of the CVITP at the provincial/territorial level, and

– raise issues connected with specific provincial/territorial taxes and benefits treated in the return.

In navigating the main menu for this section, you will see on the page for each province and territory that we are calling for local CVITP contributors who are interested to share useful information on this website that fulfills one or more of these three purposes.

(Note that our Networking section of the website offers CVITP volunteers and host organizations a venue for sharing and reading information and ideas of general interest to CVITP colleagues all across Canada.)
